I am here to try and help you make the best decision on finding or building a protein skimmer for your Salt Water reef or marine tank. When looking up information for Protein Skimmers I found that most of the information out there came from different merchants. Merchants are good and can give a lot of information but they are there for one thing, to sell. I was more looking for a place where I could get information to help me decide if I could handle a DIY protein skimmer or if I needed to go purchase one. If I could DIY, what did I need to build it. What about some DIY protein skimmer plans. If I decided to purchase, I wanted some reviews and helpful info on what I needed.
There is a ton of information out there in a bunch of different spots. There is information about protein skimmers on the merchant sites, there is a ton of real world experience out on a bunch of different forums. The problem I found with the forums is that you need to sign up for an account then dig through tons of posts to try and find out if something was good or not. I literally spent over an hour trying to find information on a single protein skimmer.
I figured if I had this problem then others must be having the same issues……thus this site was born.
